Journey of Wholeness
Journey of Wholeness (JOW) is a 5-month retreat-based cohort experience designed specifically for Asian American pastors and ministry leaders . Our aim is to provide a place and a process where leaders can withdraw from their regular responsibilities and rhythms of life - in order that they may "come away" with Jesus and receive His gracious offer of rest for their souls. It is our hope that through this unique and transformative journey, participants will be able to cultivate a deeper life with God and experience renewal in both their faith and calling.
JOW is offered to a selective cohort of ministry leaders each year and space is limited. There is no cost to participants as an expression and metaphor of God’s abundant love.

Journey of Wholeness Guides
Jeff is the founder of Barnabas & Co. - a ministry that serves to come alongside Asian American ministry leaders and ministries to help them move towards greater flourishing in Christ Jesus. Prior to that, he has served as a local church pastor for close to two decades.
David is a founder of the Abide Gathering - an annual gathering for Christians with Asian ancestry who are moving towards greater flourishing. David is active in several work and faith communities including the Christian Economic Forum, Praxis, and Leadership X.
With over 15 years of experience as a leader of an international missions organization, Kris' primary passion is to come alongside leaders in order to fan the flames of their vision and calling. She is also an international teacher devoted to empowering the Body of Christ in having an authentic and thriving life with God.
With over 22 years in church leadership, Sam has experienced much of the highs and lows that come with being in pastoral ministry. This is why Sam has a special heart for pastors who struggle with burn out, stress, and anxiety. He is the author of the book Be Free and the founder of Be Free Ministries.

Asian Americans pastors and ministry leaders struggle with unique pain points and struggles in their respective cultural context of ministry. Our desire to come alongside such leaders grows out of our conviction that Asian American pastors and ministry leaders are underserved and under-resourced - especially in the area of soul care.

With so much of Asian American cultural and ministry norms being rooted in transactional relationships and performance, we believe that there is power in offering JOW completely for FREE and with no strings attached. Despite the high cost per participant, we remain committed to offering JOW as a "grace" because we see it as a tangible expression of God's gracious and generous love to the leader.
Praxis Oriented
Approach
While many pastors and ministry leaders carry a large knowledge base of truth, they may still lack an experience of those very truths as a lived out reality in their lives. That is why at JOW, we go beyond just teaching knowledge and seek to employ more of a praxis style approach to learning.
Holistic in Approach
We specialize in providing a unique, retreat-based cohort experience for Asian American leaders that engage the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. We draw deeply from the world of spiritual formation and emotional/spiritual health, while being Christocentric and Trinitarian in our approach.

Our desire to come alongside such leaders grows out of our conviction that Asian American ministry leaders are underserved and under-resourced - especially in the area of soul care.
According to Barna, one of the leading reasons why pastors and ministers are considering dropping out of full-time ministry is due to the experience of isolation and loneliness. We believe that deep and lasting formation happens in the context of community and relationships. Our aim with JOW is to create safe, shared spaces for Asian American ministry leaders - for meaningful, life-giving connection with God and with others. To that end, we keep our cohort sizes intentionally small.
Yes, there are no hidden fees or upfront costs. Participants will need to arrange their own transportation. Apart from that, the only cost is your time as you'll need to commit to the 5 retreats and the monthly prayer & reflection exercises.
Cohort 1 Schedule
Retreat 1 (2 nights/3 days): Jan 16-18 (Tue 7pm to Thu 4pm)
Retreat 2 (Half-Day): Feb 15 (Thu 9am-1:30pm)
Retreat 3 (Full Day): Mar 13 (Wed 9am to 8pm)
Retreat 4 (Half-Day): Apr 18 (Thu 9am-1:30pm)
Retreat 5 (2 nights/3 days): May 14-16 (Tue 7pm to Thu 4pm)
